AlmaVerde is conveniently accessible from the N125 road, with residential plots set well back in elevated positions, giving residents the opportunity to enjoy the peace and tranquility of their own lush, sub-tropical gardens, set among mature oak and pine trees, and other local flora.

Blessed with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, and with a current construction density of less than 5%, the site encompasses large open and wooded areas for walking and informal outdoor exercise. Follow one of the marked trails, or stroll over to the rebuilt kiln to see how lime for construction was extracted from the local fieldstone in days gone by.

At the end of the long, tree-lined approach drive, the stylish new Reception Building provides a warm welcome to guests, as well as acting as the hub for information and activities on the resort. Within the Reception Building is a spacious, sprung-floored exercise Studio for group classes and activities, including yoga and dance. The building also houses offices for real estate sales and villa management.

Maps and mountain bikes are available from Reception to help explore the AlmaVerde trail system as well as the tracks and back roads of the local area. Cycle over to the National Forest above Barão S. João or explore the dramatic cliffs and beaches of the nearby coastline.

You can also play tennis at the AlmaVerde Racquets Club. Built and maintained to the highest standard, the four floodlit synthetic grass courts will help you to enjoy your game with minimal stress on joints and ligaments. You can rent courts and equipment, book an individual coaching session, or join a group clinic.

Nearby, on the edge of a shady pine copse, is the children’s playground. Grown-ups can sit back on comfortable wooden benches while their charges climb, swing and slide to their hearts’ content.

Situated next to the courts, our futsal-size grass pitch provides an opportunity for children and adults alike to play 5-a-side football, or just to enjoy a knockabout with friends.
